These risk factors include, but not limited to:
- Tobacco use
- Osteoporosis (studies have also shown a resulting improvement in bone density)
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Advanced Age
- Heart and circulatory conditions
- Taking certain blood and/or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or medications
- Site infection
- Complex Fractures/injuries
